Duress alarms enable lone workers to quickly call for help if they are in a dangerous or life-threatening situation. They are also used by people working outside of normal business hours or in the community, where help may not be available immediately.
A Duress alarm can be activated by pressing a single button on the device or pendant and this connects with a monitoring centre to be answered by a customer care consultant. The customer care consultant will be able to talk through what needs to happen with the person who is in danger, as well as providing assistance or directing them to a safe location. They can also be activated by a lone worker to keep their workplace secure, by checking in before entering a premises and if a patient or family member becomes aggressive or violent during a visit, the lone worker can press the alarm to summon help. |
