The Mazda 6 Key Fob The Mazda 6 is a mid-sized sedan that stands out for its elegant design and engaging handling. The standard four-pot engine produces an impressive 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft and assists the six-speed automatic-drive sedan hustle to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds. Its swoopy, bold lines and grille makes it appear more expensive than Toyota Camry or Honda Accord which it competes against. Keyless Entry When the weather is bad or you've had to run for errands and you're hands are full just a push of one button is all you need to open your Mazda 6 key fob and continue with your day. You'll find the button on the back of the fob underneath a silver key ring. You can also press a tiny button on the fob's side to pull out the manual key accessory, and then access the inside of the fob. If you're worried about your keys being stolen, you can get an anti-theft device installed by a local auto dealer or a trusted automotive locksmith. These devices protect against relay attacks because they shut down the remote-control fob's electronics after a short period of inactivity. You can purchase a replacement key fob in bulk from an auto parts store if you're worried about the battery of your current one going out. Once the metal auxiliary key is removed, you will see a hole on either side of the case. Use a tape-wrapped flathead screwdriver to open the case, starting with one side and moving to the next. Once you've removed the case, place it somewhere to ensure you don't lose it. Replace the battery and the rubber ring it rests on. Then, put the case back together and check to see if everything works. Key Fob The key fob is a small device that manages your car's security system. It emits radio waves that are detected by an interior reader. The lock is activated if the RFID (radio frequency identification) signal is found to match the code that has been encoded into the system. Key fobs of today come with a number of features to prevent their signals from being snatched and copied by thieves. The battery on a key fob must be replaced at least once a year. If the battery fails the KEY light could not illuminate or the KEY Button might not work. You can purchase a brand new battery from a dealer or save up to 75% if you buy it online. To open the Mazda key fob to replace the battery, press the auxiliary key button on the back of the key fob. Once you have done that, remove the auxiliary metal key. You'll see a slot on either side of the case where the key was so use a screwdriver open the case of the key fob gently, starting with one side and then the other. Once the case has been opened, you are able to remove both the auxiliary metal and the plastic battery cover. Replace the battery, being careful not to scratch the rubber ring that it sits on. Then, replace the plastic cap on the battery and the key that is used to turn off the auxiliary. Reassemble the case until you hear a click. Remote Start
Mazda Advanced keyless entry is an option that allows remote locking, unlocking and even starting functions using your key fob. Some of the new Mazda's include a three-year free trial of Mazda Connected Services which allows you to remotely lock and unlock your vehicle with a smartphone app and also set the temperature in your cabin, locate your vehicle and much more. If the warning light on the KEY (red) appears or the push button start indicator light (amber) flashes, this could indicate that the engine is not able to start using the normal starting method (for vehicles equipped with a type A instrument cluster (Search), messages are displayed in the instrument cluster). Have your vehicle inspected by an Authorized Mazda Repairer as soon as possible. Keep your key fobs in good condition and lubricated to avoid rust. Replace your battery each year, or as necessary and rotate your keys so that no one key wears more than another. Most auto parts stores sell replacement CR2025 battery. You can also purchase them directly from Mazda's website if you require. Security System The Mazda 6's security system is designed to deter thieves from starting the car by allowing the vehicle to be started with a key the system recognizes. The system can be disabled in a few different ways however the most simple method is to locate and take out the fuse for the system. The fuse is located in the engine compartment, generally close to the ignition coil. The 8.0-inch infotainment screen comes with Bluetooth streaming and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, though the base Sport does not include either of these features. The Mazda6 is equipped with the TomTom Navigation System that functions well regardless of trim. It provides a range of features, like live traffic updates, automatic re-routing depending on current holdups as well as future planned destinations, and an inventory of places of interest. Despite being a large sedan, the Mazda6 has a great level of comfort for its passengers. It offers plenty of headroom and legroom for all five passengers, while the seats are comfortable. The suspension absorbs the majority of bumps and there is very little vibration or noise in the cabin.
